Happy Things

Yawwwwwwwwn.

Hello All,

This morning I woke up to discover a dreary gray sky paired with an outside temperature of 38 degrees - Something that I was definitely not in the mood for! Gloomy weather has a tendency to negatively affect my spirits, and today I needed to be in a happy sort of mood.

Thank goodness, happy colored clothes came to the rescue! Hip, Hip, HOORAYYYYY!

Seriously, what could be happier than a tulle tutu combined with polka dotted comfort, yellow tights, and a peachy keen hair bow?!

Not much!!! :)

Green tea in my mug, a pep in my step, and ready for work - Yesssssss. :)

Hugs,

Jenny

It was definitely one of those mornings today.
Overslept, hair a mess, and most of my clothes were overflowing from the laundry bin.
My tired eyes raced to the clock and quickly deduced that I had about fifteen minutes to make some magic happen.
Yikes!
Dry shampoo* + a cloth necklace-turned-headband were my lifelines.
I love wearing ponytails in between washes because it keeps excess oil and impurities from clogging the pores on my face. (If you haven’t already heard by now, let me be the one to tell you, you should not be washing your hair everyday!)
As for my dress, I chose an easy fitting frock with pretty back detailing. Well designed cutouts can turn even the simplest dress into a statement piece. When I’m pressed for time and don’t have a lot of time to be creative, I opt for a one-piece-wonder rather than trying to throw together a bunch of layers.
Ta-da!
Ready to go with two minutes to spare. Hooray!
P.S. I absolutely LOVE my job as a fashion writer for BANGSTYLE. If you haven’t already, “like” us on Facebook for the latest fashion and beauty tips. :)
*I’ve tried a few brands of dry shampoo, but my favorite by far is the Invisible Spray by Salon Grafix. It’s only $7.99 per bottle and the only brand that I’ve found to be truly invisible)

Spent the beginning of my birthday weekend in Texas. I was happy that it wasn’t very cold because I was able to wear one of my holding-onto-warmer-weather dresses. Oh, and I got my hair done too. :)

My when-in-doubt-go-to combination= lace + floaty skirt w/ asymmetrical hem. Add a pair of pretty bow shoes and I am ready for anything. :)

“The Jenny Journal” is appropriately being born in my absolute favorite fashion season: Autumn.
Things that make my heart happy during the October/November months are: cape sweaters, mini-skirts, comfortable walking boots, socks worn over tights, fedoras, and of course lace.
Today I decided to combine a few of my heart-happy favorites. :)
